Jesus, speaking to His disciples about the little children stated; “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:41-42)
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter —- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? (Isaiah 58:7)
Now greatly ponder this warning. “When I say to a wicked man, “You will surely die,” and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.” (Ezekiel 3”16-18)
How much we love God can be measured by how well we treat others. Jesus example of giving a cup of water to a thirsty child, one who can’t or won’t return the favor, is a good example of unselfish service that will be rewarded by God. Service today may not be noticed by anyone else but God will notice and give an appropriate reward. What is the price of unselfish service to humanity? What is the price of a cup of water?
Sharing the love of Jesus Christ with those in need only requires sharing the love that Jesus has given to us. Today is a good day to do that.
