Ben Franklin said; A great empire, like a great cake, is most easily diminished at the edges. Ben also stated; As we must account for every idle word, so must we account for every idle silence.
Today’s politically correct American society is nibbling at the edges of this great empire to silence those of character and religious conviction.
Since 1973 Americans have murdered fifty-five million of its children and called it freedom of choice. The Reverend Joe Wright articulated that we have worshipped other Gods and called it multiculturalism, we have endorsed perversion and called it alternate lifestyle, we have exploited the poor and called it lottery, we have rewarded laziness and called it welfare, we have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem, we have abused power and called it politics, we have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression, and we have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Unfortunately the “Silent Majority” has remained silent while permitting the foregoing pollution to corrupt our nation. We are also observing a dozing, slumbering church that is moving deeper and deeper into a tragic coma.
We need a miracle and should have learned from George Washington’s articulate farewell address where he warned, “Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds —- reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail, in exclusion of religious principle.”
Are miracles a part of our life or are we just waiting for the end?
